Dr. Meena Devi Boruah’s Poem

Faith is a Tree

(1)
So many light years have passed by
In anticipation is my heart
From hundreds of leagues afar
You advance your hands of faith

My eyes remain wide open
With love, for love

(2)
What has love given me
The moment I look back
I behold the Buddha's impassive form
A unique sensation of serenity

The tree's gilded wealth of sacrifice
The glory of doling out

(3)
Faith is a tree
Trust is a river's flow
Gushing forth towards the sea

Fresh with the invocation of love
The parturient monsoonal clouds shall melt
With the moonlight of the sky's love upon the earth
