A Dozen Monostichs

1. Sacrifice
The mother crab knows what sacrifice means!

2. Indiscriminate
Does the blood-sucking leech discriminate the complexion of the skin?

3. Sighting
The earthworm never gazes at the shooting star.

4. Beware
Even a cobra is harmless, if you keep a safe distance!

5. Earth shaking
Even a river flows back when a volcano erupts at the river mouth!

6. Why Commission
The honey bees demand no commission for making beehives!

7. Nation-building
No example is better than a coral island.

8. Nosestring
If the beast is used to the nosestring, it is broken for life.

9. Dignity
For bees, stinging is an honorable death!

10. Kite
I’m all freedom but the flying line.

11. Poetry
Like sprout leaves I grow in the poet’s heart.

12. Zubeen Garg
Death fails to prove biological Zubeen is mortal.
